ELSIETECHNOLOGIES

Quality Construction Work

Inspired by nature’s ubiquitous use of phosphates, Elsie harnesses the power of an internally developed, proprietary Phosphorus (V) [P(V)] reagent platform to mimic natures preferred chemical activator to enable unprecedented chemical transformations in exotic environments. At Elsie we exploit the power of our platform to create heavily modified designer oligonucleotide constructs for applications ranging from diagnostics and therapeutics to research tools. Elsie is able to deliver these constructs of unprecedented chemical diversity, quickly, affordably, and at scale owing to the modularity, reactivity, and stability of the P(V) platform. These constructs will find great utility in decreasing the cost and time to development of current ASO therapies and probes for current and emerging diagnostic modalities. Also, our platform has already inspired the creation of novel experimental designs and diagnostic paradigms through facile access to previously intractable oligonucleotide constructs. In a world where the true power of nucleic acid based therapeutics and diagnostics is just being realized, Elsie is positioned to accelerate this growth through access to superior oligo nucleotide constructs.

Kyle Knouse

Kyle Knouse was born in Pennsylvania and received his B.S in Chemistry from Temple University in Philadelphia (2011). As a founding member of Elsie, he is currently undergoing his graduate studies at the Scripps Research Institute under the guidance of Professor Phil S. Baran who is on the scientific advisory board of Elsie.

Dillon Flood

Dillon T. Flood was raised in San Diego CA and was interested in science from a young age. Upon graduating high school, he was accepted into UC Berkeley’s College of Chemistry where he earned a B.S. in Chemical Biology and I minor in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.  During his undergraduate study Dillon conducted research in the Lab of Ron Zuckermann at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab’s Molecular Foundry, where he studied molecular engineering of 2D bio-nanomaterials. Upon graduating from UC Berkeley, Dillon chose to move back to his hometown of San Diego to pursue his PhD with Phil Dawson at Scripps Research. During his graduate studies, Dillon’s research has been expansive, co-authoring papers in the fields of peptide and protein chemistry, enzyme engineering, DNA compatible chemistry and organic methodology. Dillon believes whole heartedly that the chemistry he co-developed during his PhD will revolutionize the production of modified oligonucleotides and allow Elsie to be wildly successful.

ELSIE

When we start a new project, you can expect 100% quality and craftsmanship. All projects include no-nonsense tools and materials. On top of this, we also make sure to give an authentic appearance and that includes a well groomed beard.

ELSIE

No construction job would seem authentic without us wearing Lumberjack Shirts. No matter how hot it is outside, you should expect us to wear our signature red and black lumberjack shirts. On special occasions, we wear blue denim shirts.

ELSIE

When getting real close, you will be greeted with the true essence of masculine woodworking. A sent including (but not limited to) hints of coffee, leather, pinewood, tobacco, grease, oil, old tools, rust and of course, molted old forest cabin.

Latest Project

The new owners of Idaho Tea & Coffee House wanted to give their place a complete makeover. We turned this boring looking cafe into a remarkable place. Both inside and outside, we built new furniture made to last heavy use and bad weather. All the wood used for the project was delivered from a nearby sawmill.
